Lossiemouth is often referred as ‘the jewel of the Moray Firth’, on the north east coast of Scotland.
Blessed with two sandy beaches, glorious dunes and beautiful countryside, the town is a great getaway place from the stresses of modern life. Visitors can enjoy the long pleasant walks along the beach and soak up the town’s tranquil atmosphere. The West beach passes the landmark of Covesea Lighthouse and is about 3 miles long while the East beach is predominantly characterised by its sand dunes that run parallel to the sea and river stretching even further. The town is great for sailing and boat rides for dolphin spotting or sea angling while watersports enthusiasts, particularly surfers, will enjoy the waves.
The town is also home to the Moray Golf club and has two fine gold courses. The old classic Links course was designed by Tom Morris in 1889 and the new precision golf course by Henry Cotton in 1979. The club is a heaven for golfers and a regular venue for championships.
